The Diamond Shop (TDS) is committed to protecting your privacy in relation to your use of our products and services. This Privacy Policy applies to our website and also governs all forms of personal information and related data collection and usage by us. By using our website, or otherwise supplying your personal information to us, you consent to the data practices described in this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy also needs to be read in conjunction with our website terms, and terms of sale as displayed on our website.

The terms “we”, “us” and “our” refer to TDS. The term “you” and “your” mean you, our customer or user, and the term “parties” means TDS and you collectively.

When provided by you and where relevant, we collect personally identifiable information, such as your e-mail address, name, home or work address, telephone number, date of birth, organisation name, payment and account information, ring size, your partner’s name, contact details, date of birth, passport details and information about products and services you have purchased or are interested in. This may be collected from information you supply to us, whether via our website or as otherwise supplied by you, or as otherwise described in this Privacy Policy.

TDS may collect personal information when an individual:

  • registers for an account on the TDS website;
  • purchases a product or service on the TDS website or in a physical store;
  • provides event dates such as proposal/engagement date, wedding date, and significant anniversaries;
  • purchases duty-free products;
  • communicates with TDS, including by physical post, email, social media, telephone, text message or fax;
  • visits a website that displays or links to this Policy;
  • visits and/or posts a comment or other communication on TDS branded social media page;
  • uses TDS cloud products, IT systems or services as an authorised user;
  • applies for a job at TDS, and/or
  • offers to supply or supplies goods or services to TDS.

There is also information about your computer hardware and software that may be automatically collected by us. This information can include: your IP address, browser type, domain names, access times, and referring website addresses. This information is used by us for the operation of our services, to maintain quality of the service, and to provide general statistics regarding the use of our website.

We may also use cookies, Google Analytics, Klaviyo (for E-commerce SMS and email marketing), and Gorgias (for customer support), Meta, TikTok, Pinterest, and other similar technology on our website to track use of our website, remember your preferences, contact you, inform, optimize, and target adverts based on your past visits to our website and to enable us to collect data that may include personal information.

Please keep in mind that if you directly disclose personally identifiable information or personally sensitive data through public message boards, this information may be collected and used by others and so is disclosed at your risk.

Purposes of Collection and Use of Personal Information

We collect and use your personal information to carry out the business of TDS, inventory management, support lifetime guarantees on the quality of workmanship of products, product valuations and diamond certifications, operate our website, to operate our wider operations, to deliver the products and services you have requested and information on the same. We also use your personally identifiable information to inform you about our products or services from time to time, and you consent to receiving such communications from us, whether electronically, via any telecommunications service, or in any other manner (although you will have the right to opt-out of receiving any such communications at any time). We hold personal information on our electronic databases as well as some information in hard copy form and in other third-party databases and platforms.

We will only hold your personal information for as long as is required for the purposes for which the personal information may lawfully be used. We take practical and reasonable steps to secure your personal information from unauthorized access, use, modification or disclosure. However, it is not possible for any organization (including ours) to guarantee that 100% security will be maintained at all times.

Updates will be effective on the “effective date” stated at the top of this Privacy Policy.
